About The Show

Usually held on the first Saturday in September, organised and run entirely by volunteers, the Chalfont St Giles Show, now well over 100 years old, began originally as an annual horticultural event for local people. While managing to maintain (and indeed expand) its original objective, the Show has developed over the years into one of the biggest annual events in Buckinghamshire, and unique in the fact that any surplus money generated by the show is distributed to local charities at the Annual General Meeting.

With attendances of over six and a half thousand people and featuring an amazing range of entertainment – from Companion Dog Show to belly dancers, from Hog Roast to Punch and Judy, from spectacular arena attractions to painting contests for tiny tots – its aim first foremost and always is to provide a really great day out for all the family.

And, we firmly believe, nobody does it better!

About The Website

CSGShow.org was created in 2005 to aid in the organisation and preparation of the Chalfont St Giles Show. Since it was first launched, it has evolved significantly and now acts as valuable resource for both forthcoming shows and historic ones.

The aim of the website is to give you up to date information regarding the show. and to allow you to download important documents. In 2010 we introduced the Online Competition Entry System which proved very successful and we urge you to apply online this year as it significantly assists us with administering the competitions.

Online Registration for Competitions is now OPEN

Last year we introduced the ability to register your entries for the Show competions online. As of Saturday 28th May via the Competitions Tab you can register online for this year's show.

If you are already registered, you can use the same login details as last year. If you have forgotten your password you can request it to be sent to your registered email address. Its a straight forward process to register yourself as a new entrant and you can modify your entries up to the closing date, one week before the show. All sensitive personal information and passwords are stored securely using industrial-strength encryption.

A plea to all who are thinking of applying via the paper forms available in the schedule. If you have access to the Internet, we would prefer you to enter online because we have to manually enter online all paper records and that can result in errors and omissions.

Schedule for 2011 Show OUT NOW

The schedule for the 2011 Chalfont St Giles show is now available from a number of local show agents. The "Down on the Farm" theme has captured the imagination of this year's committee members and they have come up with some creative and enticing classes and competitions.

How about making an original scarecrow? Or a salt-dough farm animal?

Perhaps your talents lie in the culinary field and you might like to enter a "harvest time" pudding or a hearty farmhouse soup. Or perhaps the men in your house are the best chefs and can conjure up a Farmer’s Stew that impresses the judges. Don’t be shy, join in the fun and enter as many categories as you like

Click the Competitions tab for more details and how to enter.

The schedule also contains lots more information about the show and "what's on". There is something for everyone this year and your show committee are working hard behind the scenes to fill the showground with activities, displays, shopping opportunities, places to eat and drink and exhibitions to delight and entertain you.

With 3 months to go, NOW is the time to make sure September 3rd is on your calendar, in your diary, smart phone or electronic organiser!
