| Chalfont St. Giles Show |
The Chalfont St Giles Show doesn't just happen every year. It takes a tremendous amount of hard hard work to make it a success and effort from a dedicated army of volunteers (The "Show Committee") in the months leading up to the event. With the event attracting several thousand people every year, organisation and planning is critical to the success of the Show. Without such a positive driving force behind the event, it would either cease to exist, or be of a poor, sub-standard quality.
NOTE: We are currently on the lookout for volunteers wishing to contribute to the Show, by helping out on-the day. For more information on how you can help, please read more about getting involved.
FREE 64 page schedules are available from our show agents from May 2011. You can also purchase tickets in advance from some agents so you can avoid queuing on the day.
Buy Tickets Online
Flexmore Farm has made their online shop available to sell show tickets via Paypal. As in 2010, advance adult tickets cost £3.00 (£4.00 on the day). Advance concessions and children's tickets cost just £2.00 (£2.00 on the day). Entry for children under 5 is free.
You can also buy a book of 5 raffle tickets (£5.00) at the same time. Lots of valuable prizes including cash!
This year, the showground opens at 11:00am. Fancy dress will be judged at the Youth Centre in Narcot Lane at 11:00am.The procession starts at 11:45am at the Youth Centre, arriving at Stone Meadow for the official opening at 12:15pm.
Everyone is welcome to join the Procession which leaves from Narcot Lane Youth Centre at 11.45am. Perhaps you have a vehicle you can decorate in the theme of "Down on the Farm" (interpret however you like!) or you can join in by walking down on foot.
How about digging out your wheelbarrow and getting the Children to decorate it? It makes for a memorable sight to see a range of brightly decorated wheelbarrows with our local kids grinning happily as they are pushed down the hill.
Prizes are awarded for the best decorated floats and wheelbarrow!
More information about organised activities will be available soon.
